Bifocals are lenses that have a visible dividing line that separates the distance portion at the top from the reading bit at the bottom. |
Although many people have changed from bifocals to varifocals, there are some people who prefer bifocals, usually for one of the following reasons:
· The reading portion is larger than in a varifocal
· There is no distortion at the edges as there is in varifocals
· The reading area is instantly locatable within it’s visible segment
If you’ve tried varifocals unsuccessfully, bifocals may be an alternative to separate pairs of reading and distance glasses. |
